The Mission

The Target of Project: Bellyfatology:

Although this site and project is meant to inspire, help, and educate you on your own weight loss goals, it’s also an extremely vital role in whipping my sorry tail into shape as well. But without solid goals, and a target to shoot to, you can’t get anywhere. Vision is an extremely important tool in our every day life, and it’s equally important in our fitness life as well. Without a vision, you cannot see where you’re going. And this is where I am going:

The goal for The 2008 Project: Bellyfatology for me, personally, is to weigh 210 lbs by January 1st of 2009.  With the following measurements and that bodyweight, my body-fat percentage will be approximately 12% - 15%. With this body fat percentage, I will remain at a healthy fat percentage (you don’t want to go too far down - especially you ladies), but still look as muscular as possible without becoming veiny. With this goal also come other sub-priority goals, which are the measurements. The measurements that I wish to achieve during this weight goal are as follows:

Neck: 17.5 Inches
Shoulders: 54 Inches
Chest:  45.25 Inches
Biceps: 16.5 Inches
Forearms: 13.5 Inches
Stomach: 34 Inches
Hips: 40.75 Inches
Thighs: 24.50 Inches
Calves: 16.25 Inches

There are also some strength goals that I wish to meet during 2008. These strength goals are just for fun and not just for health. These are just for bragging rights that I’ll never use, but will be able to remain strong enough as I get older, and my joints will stay healthier as I age. These strength goals are these:

  • To be able to shoulder press 220 lbs 10x.
  • To be able to bench press 300 lbs 10x.
  • To be able to dead-lift 500 lbs.

Now: this is an extremely important area of my “goals” section; that’s why I’ve highlighted it. Throughout the year, there will be what I will call “Power Challenges.” Where I will take on a self-proclaimed challenge, or a challenge initiated by a viewer to cause spikes in the goals, and keep things interesting. To initiate one of these “Power Challenges” you must email me at bellyfatology@gmail.com, and I will create a sort of voting method to see which challenge I should do.

Community Challenges:

Although the project seems centered around me, this is a challenge that should be given to the whole viewing community as well. I am fighting to better the health of those who are viewing this project, so occasionally, I will be offering suggestions for community challenges. I hope to find some way to get us all involved to better our health, but more on that as my viewer count increases, and the project moves along smoother. If you have any questions, feel free to email me at bellyfatology@gmail.com. Thanks!
