			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Hey! I hope people are still coming to this site to read updates - it&#8217;s the most important part of this project. Anyways, there&#8217;s a new and exciting change about to take place.<br />

A while back, when I was younger, my family would make challenges to one another. In these various challenges would be certain rules such as &#8220;No one can be grumpy, or they lose such-n-such.&#8221;</p>
<p>Well, when I went off to college, my two amazing sisters and I set a challenge that we never went through with. We wanted to see who could lose the most weight, and transform our bodies the best.</p>
<p>Well, a few days ago, I was talking to my youngest sister, and she said that we should re-do our challenge. And of course I was all for that, because I needed to be motivated to lose some weight, but then I got a great idea:</p>
<p>Why not broadcast the challenge?!</p>
<p>SO! For the rest of this project&#8217;s existence, it is now known as &#8220;The Bellyfatology Challenge.&#8221; Because it will be the challenge between me and my sisters to see who can get in the best of shape. More details coming soon.

<p>For the following week, I will eat less than 30 carbs daily and we&#8217;ll see how much weight I lose. However, the true test comes when I begin eating carbs again. I won&#8217;t go to eating terrible amounts of carbs (like donuts, or cake) but I will introduce a very small amount of carbohydrates (like, under 200 grams) to reintroduce them to my body. But that&#8217;s a couple weeks away.</p>

<p>I have been up since five this morning pouring over ways to get my knowledge of how the internet works, and I&#8217;m desperate to get more views. Not that I thought I&#8217;d have more people watching by now (in fact, I am thrilled at the amount of people I do have), it&#8217;s just that I want more! I don&#8217;t want to spam. I know how to, but I refuse.</p>
<p>That&#8217;s why I&#8217;m going to be shifting some of the focus around here to gain some search engine traffic. People searching for weight loss information will be able to come here and learn, and I also want to help people who are already here begin their weight loss journey.</p>

<p>This school that I am at only has a squeaky old rusty scale. I had to actually get my roommate to snag a digital scale when he went off to target to get something. Good man, that roommate.</p>
<p>A tip for weighing:</p>
<p>Never weigh more than twice a week. This is because you don&#8217;t want to become obsessive over your weight. Since certain things (such as water weight - which I&#8217;ll talk on later on) can trigger a sudden spike in weight loss/gain, it is wise not to get these spikes mixed up with actual progression or digression of your goals!</p>
<p>Also, if you do weigh weekly, weigh in at the same exact time, with the same exact clothes on. Don&#8217;t change up your weighing patterns because it can throw you off - the last thing you want to do is become discouraged and then lose motivation to continue.</p>
<p>Keep in mind that weighing is not the end-all for your goals, either. That&#8217;s why I am also measuring (muscle/fat growth/reduction) and taking pictures (what I look like). That way I have other means of seeing my progress. So make sure you don&#8217;t take the scale at face-value. Get the second opinion of others&#8217; and pictures/measurements you take so that you have them to fall back on.</p>
<p>Besides, muscle weighs more than fat. You don&#8217;t want to get mixed up.

<p>However! I did manage to measure myself, and this is what I have come up with (Numbers in Parenthesis are the 2009 Goal):</p>
<p><strong>Neck:</strong>16 inches (17.5 inches)<br />
<strong> Biceps: </strong>14 inches (16.5 inches)<br />
<strong> Forearms:</strong> 12.25 inches (13.5 inches)<br />
<strong> Chest:</strong> 43.5 inches (45.25 inches)<br />
<strong> Stomach/Waist: </strong>45 inches (34 inches)<br />
<strong> Hips:</strong> 44.5 inches (40.75 inches)<br />
<strong> Thighs:</strong> 26.75 inches (24.5 inches)<br />
<strong> Calves: </strong>18 inches (16.25 inches)</p>
<p>Ok, there are a few little areas that I want to touch on here.</p>
<p>One) The massive size of my waist. I use to have a 34 inch waist about 3 years ago. I have almost a FOOT to lose! I&#8217;m excited.</p>
<p>Also) These numbers are going to get really weird in some places: as my body fat shrinks, my neck, arms, and thighs will shrink. ANd then I&#8217;m going to really have to push hard to get the size that I want in some other areas.</p>
<p>I hope these help get you motivated as well!<br />

Today (as in tomorrow for the date on the video) I will be focusing on a few things: setting up my weight loss goals, and also getting this site edited just a smidge. I&#8217;m looking around on the net for some body calculators just to get a good look at my perfect body proportions for my goal weight (210) and goal body-fat percentage (12% - 15%) and so far, I am pretty excited.</p>
<p>I&#8217;ll talk more about this later. But right now I got to jump back on it! See you later today!</p>
<p>*Edit* I just looked up how much water I need to drink a day. And it was seventeen 8 oz. glasses a day. 17! Holy cow!</p>
<p>I also calculated my body fat percentage. And it&#8217;s approximately 30.8 percent! I am more than just obese! I&#8217;m unhealthy! Aaah! I have to lose 30 pounds, 15+% body fat, and still maintain my strength goals: which will be posted by the end of the day in one of those tabs above. <img src='http://bellyfatology.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif' alt=':D' class='wp-smiley' />
